This is a one-of-a-kind "film-look" digital camera system custom-built specifically for shooting the independent feature film, "The Shivering Earth." See Technical Details here.
The VC25P captures images that are more like those of a motion picture film camera than a video camera. It records the images digitally, direct to an on-board hard disk, so there is no tape to deal with. The day's takes are then transferred from the hard disk directly to the editing system with no loss of quality.
The camera records at 25 frames per second, and can be slowed to 24 frames per second for theatrical exhibition, or converted to 30 frames per second for television broadcast and DVD distribution.
